Missed photos

I hate it when I see a scene and think ‘that’d make a good photo’.  It’s happened a few times just today.  This morning it was raining and I saw a crop of umbrellas ahead of me but too far ahead.  A sparrow was perched on top of streetlamp and looked so cute but, again, too far away and then it flew off.  Lambs playing, calves running, but nowhere to stop and take a photo from the road.

I need to re-read my new camera manual this weekend.  Last weekend’s attempts were not satisfying so I need to know how to get the best out of it.
